Finally a room of his own
When my mom passed away suddenly last October, we moved into the upstairs part of her house. There was a lot of work that needed to be done, like putting in new flooring in all rooms, painting the rooms, replacing the kitchen and so on. Initially I had help, so we could move in by December but some things just took more time to finish. It was only in February when the kitchen was put in. The kids room where last on the list, as we still shared my bedroom but Niklas room was done fairly quick and became a playroom for them. Jacob's room though as full with boxes from my mom still that I needed to sort and it just took ages. It didn't help that my brother and his mate kept putting me off with excuses. As I have been on holiday since mid July, I spend my evenings painting the room, windows and door and on Saturday evening, I spend hours putting the flooring in and another hours putting the wardrobe together. Slowly his room came alive and today, he finally moved into his own room. He's quite pleased but is still getting used to it. Niklas will be with me for a few more days, while I sort out blackout curtains for him. As Jacob is the better sleeper, it's easier to transition one at a time.
